"Whilst visiting Yale University Art Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut I saw this beautiful but macabre carved ivory. Only about five inches tall yet so exquisite. I guess it could be called a 'memento mori', something designed to remind us of death". Taken by Mike
That's an interesting carving. It always amazes me that someone can create something so small in such great detail.
