Victory

"Manhattan celebrates the election of President Obama.

I've seen the Tompkins Square riots, way too many New Years Eves, and the 2003 blackout which were all pretty wild, but this was something else. For a couple of hours people in Manhattan were cheering, dancing, running...It was like years of contained anger busting out in exchange for hope and joy. Here is a video.

You know, some folks made fun of the affect Obama had on people. I'm tickled by how excited people were. I loved it. :-)

People made fun of how people got? Seriously, I haven't heard anyone making fun.

On the contrary, so many people are sharing in the joy, and understand how people - who have been so hurt, disgusted and angered by the Bush administration - are now so joyful that a respectable president is now in charge.

Go out in the streets and celebrate!

Great photo.
