The Marcher Lords

"Shropshire countryside pan composed from several shots covering 180 degrees merged in Photoshop. Shropshire is part of the Welsh Marches, so called because Marcher Lords once marched here, establishing their territory by fighting and building castles. It was all once part of Wales right up to the river Severn, but the English took away all arable land up to the Welsh mountains, and that's where the border is today complete with mostly ruined castles".
