"What a beautiful spot this is. Go down the Appian Way on the bus to visit the various catacombs, then go further on and on the left you will find the Circus Maxentius a little way off the road to the left. Once a vast chariot racing centre with buildings and stables, tiered seats and no doubt concession stands and souvenir sellers, now a quiet set of ruins in a field. Great place for a picnic! The children in our group raced around the course - far longer than they realised, perhaps nearly a kilometre around". Taken by Alison Ryde

"... it's the pictures that got small!" Nora Desmond - Sunset Boulevard. Everytime I run into Ms. Wang I'm reminded of Nora Desmand. A woman living on the edge of reality, still the star of her youth. Taken in Liuzhou, China by Expatriate Games
The eclectically exotic passages of the Medina of Tunis..this was last summer - and who could imagine that the country will soon experience a revolution? The capital showed no sign of it (to the foreign visitor), the seaside resorts - even less... Taken In Tunisia by Maistora
Sunset backlighting some heavy tropical rainclouds in Soufriere, St Lucia. Great contrast appealed to me. Taken by alisonryde.

"Had the worst sandstorm in Kuwait. *Possibly*
I got stuck in the cafe I was at with my friend for 3 hours. Managed to take some photos for the buildings outside and because I only had my 50mm with me, couldn't take wide photos but you can tell what was really going on by the photos on my Flickr page [scroll down]
It was coming inside a closed place and taking a deep breath was impossible. Lungs shut down and stop you from inhaling!
People coming in out of nowhere knocking on the door of the cafe... the whole "refugee" feel in the place and the windspeed of around 100mph". Taken by Socceraholic
