Riverhang

I complained last week about UK weather on the page of a Southern California photo, I was told to go 'immediately' to San Diego :) Well, that was a little less-than-easy, especially the 'immediately' bit... But summer works in mysterious ways...
Just back from a busy and productive week in Berlin, where we were blessed with 30-degree heat every day. The city felt like a tropical resort - everyone was out in the streets, in shorts and flip-flops, drinking beer and having a party. Thousands of 'improvised' bars, cafes and clubs were overflowing with young and beautiful people, especially on the banks of the river and canals.
Incredible vibe! Wish I had more time and didn't have to... work (excuse the 4-letter word :(

Norway faces down terror

Norway Faces Down Terror with love roses and songs #7
At the public square Youngstorget in Oslo.
The tragedy of the 22nd of July, 2011 affected all the people of Norway. However at times like this when I see all people joining together to show that we will not answer hate with hate and violence with violence, I feel happy to be Norwegian.

Mysore

Mysore is one of my favorite cities in India. The reasons for this are not that obvious. There are no important sights to visit, no mind boggling temples or forts. It's also not a particularly beautiful place. But there is something about the people that I really liked. They are open and friendly. When I was walking through the streets of Mysore I was very often waved at, to come over and sit down and have a short chat… so often, that I had to decline many times, as I wanted to cover some ground and get some photos in the limited time I had in this friendly city.

Zeroed In

Playing with focus, both during the shoot and in processing.    Still monochrome, but backed way off on the color and let the lighting speak for itself... I'm tickled with how well this one turned out!!!

Old Delhi

Delhi is a very diverse city. You have the modern parts close to Connaught Place, where all the government buildings are and then you have Old Delhi. The area around Chandni Chowk is quite well known to tourists who regularly drive through there on bicycle rikshaws or you see groups being led through the hustle and bustle by guides. But as you go in even deeper (Chowri Bazaar) it gets really chaotic and fascinating. I've only seen one Westerner there and when we saw each other we immediately started talking to each other, expressing our disbelieve of finding such a place right in the middle of this otherwise quite modern Indian Metropolis.

Service through Christ

Alberta's Catholic sisters are being honoured for their pioneering contributions in education, health care and social welfare.    A three-metre bronzed sculpture depicts a sister holding a huge piece of stained glass that symbolically depicts the breadth and depth of the sisters' service to the province of Alberta. Herman Poulin, an artist from St. Paul, Alta., was commissioned to create a bronze sculpture to be on permanent display at the Legislature.

A 'little boat' had parked one sunny morning under my hotel window. Built in Germany, registered in Malta and US-owned and operated. Seen in AmsterdamHolland and going to the Caribbean.. I can't even list the nationalities of tourists who live on it every month... What's nationality?
