99% over 1%

"Occupy Wall St.

I am here. This week in New york. Next week DC. And possibly to the march on the federal buildings in TX. I will be documenting what i can and Light painting the message along the way with my good friend Doctor Tongs. There are occupy protests near you, Both in the US and the world. If you are over The Government and the Corporations feeding each other fat meals while starving the slaves they have created then get out and be a voice in your community. I am the 99%." The Orange Man

"It was cold last evening, didnt expect a clear view esp. from across the street struck in the traffic jam. Everyday I see him but this was the first time I got him with those amazing kerosene lamps, maybe a longer telephoto lens could have made it easier because I dont think if I get close with a wide angle one I'd get the light that you see here.... GEC, Chittagong". Taken by N A Y E E M

Ghost Town of Bodie

"Bodie, CA is a Ghost town in the Wild West. Like many other deserted towns, it came up as a Gold mining town in the nineteenth century. As the mines closed down, the population declined. US census of 1912 put the population as 120. Today, no one lives there except the park rangers.

"Winters are off-season for Bodie because the access roads are usually closed because of snow. But we were able to get there this week because snow hasn't been much. And ironically, in a town that no one lives, I managed to get a parking ticket because, apparently, I parked in the wrong empty space...
The day we visited Bodie, it was competely deserted. There was no other visitor...except the ghost that left the parking ticket." Taken by abhishekit

Castell Dinas Bran

The most reliable sources state that Gruffydd Maelor II, son of Madog ap Gruffydd Maelor I, began the castle in the late 1260's. The elder Madog founded nearby Valle Crucis Abbey, where both men were buried. Some references offer an earlier date for the castle, placing it in the 1230's, when Madog would have been alive and, therefore, its builder. Regardless of whom actually erected the buildings that now survive in ruin, they were part of the last building effort at Dinas Bran. Incredibly, assuming the later date to be most accurate, the Welsh princes only occupied the site for two decades. During those final two decades, the castle on the hilltop became a prized possession of the princes of Powys Fadog. Dinas Bran's power did not go unnoticed by English forces. In 1277, during Edward I's initial foray into Wales, the Earl of Lincoln, Henry de Lacy, besieged the castle. The Welsh lord of Dinas Bran was forced to submit to the invading army, which promptly set the site afire, completely destroying it. Taken in Wales by tedesco57

Pomegranates for all

Instead of going to work/school today, we went for a day trip to Jerusalem, Israel. We went to the Old City and the Western Wall, but this photo was taken at the Muslim Quarter, where there's a market for all kinds of things (such as fruit, herbs, clothes, religious stuff etc...). These vivid-red pomegranates really caught my eyes, especially because of the background of the pale walls. Taken with an iphone by Better Nothing than Almost.

salt farms

Salt farms in Samut Somgkran, Thailand are of a natural beauty specially when the fields start to be flooded with sea water to prepare them for the salt harvest in February. If a Temple is part of the landscape then the beauty is transformed in a postal card. Add to it a Temple painted white, which is very rare, the picture is transformed in this colorful frame.
