Coyoacán

In the neighborhood of Coyoacan and surrounded by beautiful trees is the square of Santa Catarina. Breathe in it an atmosphere of tranquility that reflects the picturesque in the area. The chapel dates back to the 16th century and is dedicated to Santa Catarina of Siena; it was a chapel open for Indians, where the indigenous people of the area were served by an order of Franciscan friars. Closer...

"Saint Francis' Church may lie at the foot of one of Melbourne’s skyscrapers, but it is a holy place dedicated to a higher power and eternal life in contrast to the temporal power that lies within the skyscraper". Australia. Taken by Apami

Yosemite Chapel

"Yosemite Chapel on the valley floor. I like the view with the falls in the background. You have to go behind the church to get this shot, be careful of the marshy area, you will get wet. :-) ". Taken by Dale Carlson

Norwegian Church

"This looks like a Norwegian Church, but what is that writing on the side...? That's not Norwegian, it's Welsh! Why - because in 1869 it was built in Bute Docks in Cardiff by Scandinavian seamen (having been brought piecemeal from Norway by sea) as a place of worship for the seamen and their families. In 1987 it was moved, again piecemeal, and reconstructed on its present site in Cardiff Bay where it now houses a Norwegian Style cafe and Art Centre". Taken by Elliott

Oxford from on High

"I was lucky enough to be given a Balloon trip for a present. We passed over the centre of Oxford and were privileged to get a really special view of this historic city. This picture shows the mid-eighteenth century Radcliffe Camera, now used as a reading room for the Bodleian Library. In the foreground to the right is the University Church. The Camera sits in the centre of Radcliffe Square with Colleges of the University to the left and right. A Red bus going down the High is just visible". Taken by Michael
